Through the streets – video post

Here are three similar videos from three very different countries from three very different times.

All of these are fairly long (rendez-vous is shortest at over 8 mins) but strangely mesmerizing. I would not/could not watch more than one in a row, it is best to space the viewings apart.

If you are only going to watch one video and you haven’t seen it, watch the last video!

First we have a lovely video of a tram ride through Barcelona from 1908.

Second is this video clip of a motorcyclist weaving his/her way through heavy traffic on a japanese highway.

and lastly (my favorite) from 1976 the fairly famous clip C’était un rendez-vous.The film shows an eight-minute drive through Paris in the early hours of the morning (05:30hrs), accompanied by sounds of a high-reving engine, gear changes and squealing tires.” It is beautiful.
